Recruiting Leadership Lab 50

June 24-25, 2025

Preparing Heads of Talent Acquisition for the Biggest Decisions They Need to Make in the Next 18 Months

This invite-only TA leadership event is not a conference or a pure networking event, and there are no sponsor booths. So, what is it?  It’s a hands-on, strategic 1.5 day workshop for senior TA leaders. It’ll combine some fire-starter panels and talks with small group work sprints, so you’ll build out strategies and processes and new models to take back to work. It’s highly interactive – more like a workshop than a conference – built for senior  TA leaders from 2,000+ person sized orgs with 30+ person TA orgs only. You must apply and qualify to register.

Dates and Time: June 24 & 25, 2025.
Day 1: 8:30 am- 4:00 pm. Day 2: 8:30 am- 2:00 pm.

Fee: $3,495. (Prices include breakfasts and lunches on both days)

Discounts may be available if you’re a Recruiting Toolbox client or a customer of one of our sponsors.

Who’s Producing This Event?

John Vlastelica – CEO of Recruiting Toolbox – has been hired to train TA leaders at companies like Nike, Slack, Disney, LinkedIn, and Adobe, and has been rated a #1 speaker at most of our industry’s events. John and his team are bringing you this #willnotsuck TA leadership event.

AGENDA

Our agenda is 100% focused on 1) helping you win in your job as a head of TA and 2) preparing you for the big decisions you need to make in the next 18 months. The format of our workshop creates tons of opportunities for you to build as you learn. Participants get workbooks with frameworks and guides to help you design your strategies and better lead your team through the big changes ahead.

For 2025, we’ll build on some of the topics from 2024 that are still hyper-relevant plus add in some deeper dives into a few new areas.

Deep dive into the impact of AI on your org for hourly and salaried roles

  • How will automation impact the size and makeup of my TA org in the next 18 months?
  • What steps in our process should we automate, and what should we keep high-touch human?
  • Will the tech enable hiring manager self service in a way that eliminates the need for traditional recruiter roles?
  • How should I prep for the questions I’m likely to get from budget holders about the costs of my TA org?

Build out your Recruiter 2.0 role using our updated Talent Advisor 2.0 framework (competencies, leveling guidelines, job description, interview guide)

  • How will the role of the recruiter evolve in a world where a lot of the traditional sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing feedback chasing, and approvals are automated?
  • How does our tech stack and hiring manager self service impact what our recruiters have time to focus on, where our recruiters add the most value, and what new expectations we need to set for what a good recruiter looks like in this new world where purely transactional recruiters will not be needed?
  • What are the skills needed to be a great recruiter in the next 18 months, and how much of that looks like traditional recruiting vs more talent advising and talent management?

Design your driving adoption plan for the new tech and role expectations

  • How can I get buy-in and drive adoption within my own TA org, across HR, and with the hiring manager community?
  • How will I know if the changes are sticking?  Is there tech available that can inspect and drive accountability for these needed changes?
  • How can I best leverage insights into cultural differences and influencing styles to best engage executives across geos?
If you attended in 2024, you know that we 1) don’t allow sales people, but 2) hand-pick a few sponsors that have consulting mindsets, and can share what they’ve learned from working across 100s of TA teams. For 2025, we’ll add an optional sponsor-demo hour at the end of Day 2, so you can learn more about what they do in a non-salesy environment, and hear directly from some of their customers about how they’re leveraging their partner/sponsor’s tech to level up their TA functions.
We’re putting the “work” in “workshop.” Get ready to get into the details, build, share, learn, and laugh in a no-fluff but fun day and 1/2 with your peer TA directors and VPs from larger companies. 2024’s workshop got amazing feedback, so expectations are high for 2025.  Join us!

We’ve been delivering Recruiting Leadership Lab workshops to corporate TA teams (Nike, Salesforce, Adobe, Bloomberg, Disney, Canva, Slack, Liberty Mutual, LinkedIn) and individual TA managers for over 10 years. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Pinterest, Facebook, Target, Starbucks, EA Games, and Northrop Grumman have been sending their TA managers/directors to be developed for years now.  We’re now offering a value-dense experience for leaders of TA managers (Director/VP level only). It’s called RLL50 because it builds on the experiential learning format of our regular TA manager labs, but is limited to 50 senior leaders.

Yes, our founder created Talent42 (sold to Sourcecon in 2018) and as president of a non-profit put on highly rated conferences for 10 years. Our public Recruiting Leadership Lab workshops have received ridiculously positive feedback from the 20+ cohorts that have participated across the US and Europe over the past 12 years.

John Vlastelica – who’s been hired to train VPs, Directors, and Managers in recruiting for over 10 years, and served as the head of TA for a Fortune 500 firm himself – is personally building out the agenda and MCing the event. He knows heads of TA and directors in TA are crazy busy, and won’t put something together that sucks. It’ll be fun, intense, actionable, and strategic. And participants will have to apply and qualify to attend. John’s team will be working at the event to help keep it engaging and valuable, and his team is made up of former TA Directors at companies like Marriott, KPMG, Yahoo!, and Oakley. John is a 3-time #1 rated speaker at LinkedIn Talent Connect and a former #1 rated speaker at Unleash, events aimed at senior talent leaders

We won’t have any booths or sales people selling, but we will have some underwriting assistance to help fund this event.

Flexible registration: If you cannot make the event, you may send another eligible person from your company (corporate director level or higher) to take your place at the same event, with no additional fee; they can use your registration in your place but they must be pre-approved by John Vlastelica. Just email us at least five days before the event, so that we can get them approved and signed up.

Early cancellation: If you cancel at least 45 days before the event, credit card refunds are available for the full ticket price, excluding Eventbrite service and processing fees (as of Dec 1st, 2024, fees are $236.27 for a $3,495 ticket). Note: Eventbrite policy doesn’t let us reimburse you for their fees; they keep those.

If you cancel 21-44 days before the event, you may receive a partial credit card refund of 50% of the ticket price (excluding all Eventbrite service and processing fees).

If you cancel 0-20 days before the event, Recruiting Toolbox will have already ordered your workshop materials and food, and will not have enough time to sell your seat to another person, so you will not be eligible for any refund.

In no circumstances will we refund travel-related expenses, so please book travel and lodging that you can cancel if needed.

If you have any questions about these policies, please contact our event manager at alicia@recruitingtoolbox.com.

SPONSORS

We won’t have any sponsor booths or sales people attending this event. However, we do have a few sponsors helping to under-write the event and sponsor some attendees. These sponsors were hand-selected and invited by John Vlastelica to partner on this workshop. They were selected for their insights and relationships with senior TA leaders, and will be participating in the event, sharing best practices and customer successes.
